You can generally tell how much someone is loved by the way their friends treat them or speak of them. I hadn't met Bride Melissa yet - it turns out one of her friends organised some extra photography for her special day as a gift - photos of her and the girls getting ready. I had only spoken to her friend, and the little that she had told me about Melissa and how lovely and caring she is was not an exaggeration.
As I walked into the hotel room at Oaks Mon Komo, I was greeted by Melissa who was casually sitting getting her hair done . It was a rainy day with a beach wedding but Melissa never showed any sign of stress - she was just ready to get going.
One thing is clear Melissa is very loved by her friends and family. My favourite part of the day was seeing the friendship between Melissa and her Maid of honour Kristy. She had given her a pre-weddingg gift as well as a little 'Something Borrowed' - Melissa's grandmothers brooch to put around her bouquet. Get the tissues!!
There really is something special about getting ready together with your girls, getting all dolled up and having a bit of bubbly to celebrate the occasion. This was such a personalised wedding - everything from the clutch to the shoes to the bridesmaids bags. It was really all in the details.
I'll say it again, you can really tell how much someone is loved by how their friends treat them. Everyone helped each other out - there were a few roadblocks, but what is a wedding without it? These girls made sure their bride was looked after and they all had fun along the way.
P.S. - apparently sticking your head in the fridge helps when there are too many onions in a room - just ask Melissa's dad!
Melissa & Dennis (even though I didn't get to meet you), I wish you both the best on this new chapter. May you grow together and always be on the same team.
Love Adele
